Where to stay in Tokyo

Tokyo abounds with excellent places to stay, from luxury affairs to humble budget-friendly lodgings. Its glittering skyscrapers house numerous international four- and five-star hotels, both in the populous cultural hotspots of Shinjuku and in the business centers of Akasaka and Shinbashi. Meanwhile, hostels catering to the shoestring traveler lie scattered throughout the city. For a memorable, distinctly Japanese experience, seek out a ryokan, a traditional bed and breakfast with tatami floor mats and sliding screen doors.

  • I finally took my seven-year-old to TenQ now that she is studying planets in school, and we both enjoyed ourselves. The website and other reviews do a good job of covering the attractions, so i won't ...  more »

  • There's an intriguing place near Tokyo Dome. It's called the "TenQ Space Museum" and from the outside one has no idea what can be seen inside. What will be on display? Old pieces of space? Odd. All th...  more »

  • Nicely done compact spot about space exploration. Suit for young children and anyone looking up the sky at night from time to time.
  • Very cool museum. The movie that they do in the beginning is awesome. Some bits of this experience are lost without English translations but still... Great spot.
  • It's for kids though. If you are interested in space and want to see JAXA stuff, better go to the JAXA museum directly.
  • Immersive experience and lots of interactive activities. Most exhibits has English descriptions. Price is 1800 jpy for adults, time spent about 1.5hrs if you view the exhibits.
  • An new museum on top of the 黄色いビル. A great place to wait out the show I was going to watch at Tokyo Dome. There is also a bowling place on the bottom of this floor.
