Order eggs boiled in naturally scorching pond of Umijigoku as its steam rises from the cobalt-blue surface. Formed over 1,300 years ago, this boiling 200 m (600 ft) deep volcanic wonder of nature is considered the grandest of eight similar "sea hells" in the area. However, if you prefer something more tranquil, visit the gardens with lotus-covered ponds or take a foot bath in milder hot springs. You can also taste egg custard, a local specialty.
