  • It is a good place to visit with a family. In my opinion, it is not a that big aquarium, but quite alright. They have a animal feeding time. Also, they have a dolphin show. There is a snack bar inside...  more »
  • This is the locals did not feel, quite enjoy the Aquarium. Holds various shows several times a day and not inside, but is equipped facilities.

  • It is a unique Aquarium. Especially before the dolphin show in the original song and video mosh pit. oneness is audience participation show, so is double the fun. Feeding watering is paid in a limited number of people (certainly 500 yen) in, seen on the keeper special seat 2,000 yen each pair provides.

  • Had a really great time here. The aquarium has a great range of aquatic animals of all kinds, from all places ranging from the seas around Japan to streams the mountainous regions. The dolphin show was very entertaining with them performing many tricks, including "playing volleyball" with the audience. However, some exhibits look too small for the animals in them, particularly the seals and the sea turtles. One of the seals also seemed to be sick when we visited, and we saw it vomit. Hope it's just indigestion though. Overall, great place to bring kids to and a good day trip out of Aomori!
  • A lot of fun and worth the drive. A wide variety of marine animals to see. The dolphins show was neat.
  • This was a decent stop as part of my day trip to Aomori and kept me occupied for about 1.5 hours. It is a small aquarium with a snack bar and a restaurant. The price is decent at 1020¥ for an adult ticket or 2500¥ for a year pass. Had an enjoyable time watching the trainers feed, teach, and get the animals to perform. I found the sign at the petting display hilarious. Apparently they have problems with kids throwing the starfishes lol.
  • My kid enjoyed the dolphin show. Can see Nemo and Dory :)
  • Not one of the larger aquariums but like many of its kind(local smaller capacity aquariums), this place has a nice story to tell and a certain friendliness that you may or may not appreciate. I liked the cute signs and descriptions including the ones about the otters. The Asamushi park surrounding the aquarium is quite beautiful too, especially on a rainy day. One of the sites to see in Aomori/Asamushi area for sure.

Where to stay in Aomori

Aomori offers a range of accommodations following the shore of Aomore Bay, so you can easily match the location of your hotel with the things you want to do. The main street, Shinmachi, which starts at the train station, offers a range of hotels, with prices tending to decrease as you move away from the station. A number of budget hotels sit between the highway and the Arakawa River, and you can also find a group of hotels further away in Asamushionsen, next to the aquarium. Check out a few traditional "ryokan" (guesthouses) next to the railway stationl, or look for family-friendly hotels downtown.
