The Oishi shrine in AKO and the ruins of the castle of AKO is the historic site of the most famous event of the Edo period, namely the vendetta of the 47 Ronin of AKO on 14 December 1704, which Avenged the forced suicide of their former master. The castle walls are after the destruction by the number partially rebuilt and restored. The historical road to the shrine is flanked by the 47 statues of the Ronin. The shrine itself offers good-luck charm and true legend labels. A fenced district in which you consecrate his car against accident can be located on the shrine grounds next to the Zugamgsstrasse with the statues. Terrain with shrine, ruins of the Castle and residence of the leader of the Samurai, Oishi Mohsen, conveys the atmosphere of the Genroku period when Japanese culture was at its peak. The city AKO itself is a pretty little town well worth visiting and starting point for the journey to the bizen of city of pottery or also to Okayama and Kurashiki. Worth seeing.
