Akita Museum Of Art, Akita
(3.5/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Take in a huge canvas painting, reputed to be the world's largest, at Akita Museum Of Art. Painted by the revered Western-style painter Fujita Tsuguharu, and measuring 3.65 m by 20.5 m, the piece depicts traditional Akita life throughout the seasons. Along with this star attraction, the museum exhibits various other works, including rotating exhibitions by local artists. Upon entering the museum, designed by award-winning architect Tadao Ando, you'll be greeted by an enormous triangular skylight and stark concrete walls. After viewing the works, stop in the cafe, or enjoy a picnic outside the museum on the paved, picturesque public square. • Fujita tsuguharu exhibition is to visit three times. As Hirano Museum of Fujita's work in Akita Prefecture so many there, and happy as residents, but more good if you call national and where I'm going. Translucent white skin of women, so-called nude statue, delicate brushwork Fujita's is a must see. This is is one unfortunately good exhibitions, permanent exhibitions too. Little prices higher, long-awaited because of earlier on par with museums permanent exhibition want to improve. It's a want rooted as a permanent exhibition of tsuguharu Fujita works.
