Art Museum
Take in a huge canvas painting, reputed to be the world's largest, at Akita Museum Of Art. Painted by the revered Western-style painter Fujita Tsuguharu, and measuring 3.65 m by 20.5 m, the piece depicts traditional Akita life throughout the seasons. Along with this star attraction, the museum exhibits various other works, including rotating exhibitions by local artists. Upon entering the museum, designed by award-winning architect Tadao Ando, you'll be greeted by an enormous triangular skylight and stark concrete walls. After viewing the works, stop in the cafe, or enjoy a picnic outside the museum on the paved, picturesque public square. • More than Museum, is a large picture exhibition. The best is the sights has. You can not take pictures. You can avoid the stop perfectly.

  • I would want to visit when you go to the Akita!. Still good new Tadao Ando's building and a nice spiral staircase, great. And I was impressed are worth 10 minutes of Léonard Fujita painting large murals of Akita events so much. And 310 Yen admission fee! Even the coffee shop on the second floor were deliciously cozy.

  • It is from Akita station within walking distance from the Museum. I think it is worth watching because anyone not interested in the Museum building itself is new. It is land that is widely is not.
