Winnifred Beach, Port Antonio
Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Enjoy some relaxation on Winnifred Beach, a shady white sand beach in the Fairy Hill community. Swim in its calm blue water, rest in the thick shade of trees and vines, or take a walk along the bay shore. The transparent water and nearby coral reef are great for snorkeling and spotting an array of different fish species. Hang out at one of the beach bars and restaurants, where you can try Jamaican cuisine and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. Great quiet. No life guard when I was there. Water is warm and it gets really deep very fast. There is also a shallow area for children. Restaurant sells some lovely homely food! Def going back there next time in Jamaica.
Because the. Water. Is. Cool
One of the few remaining Public Beaches in Portland. It's God's gift to Portlanders, friends, family and visitors. Simply beautiful it is.
Please don't tell me they are going to put a resort in here? It is a local beach where locals go. Unlike Ochos Rios where scammers chase you around all day long, Winifred beach is relaxing and the locals are welcoming. I felt 100% safe. The beach was clean. The water was dreamy. And there was a canteen if I got hungry. No pressure man. Someone playing a little reggae music in the background which just added to the atmosphere If you do run into an artist or a peddler, they won't hassle you. Smile and politely say no thank you. The last time I went there the road was treacherous on my rental car. But who cared. If someone asks for a lift back to the main road, give them one.
Relaxing place the best way to relax and have. Fun without using a lots of money best place for a picnic among the ocean
