Dunn's River Falls and Park, Ocho Rios

4.3
For a different kind of water experience, visit Dunn's River Falls and Park, where you can climb naturally terraced waterfalls cascading down limestone tiers. One of Jamaica's major natural wonders, the falls drain into the Caribbean Sea and serve as the lush park's main feature. You can climb on your own or with the help of guides; though exhilarating, the ascent is suitable for a range of fitness levels. Don't forget your swimwear and a pair of rubber nonslip shoes, and take plenty of breaks during your climb to capture a few memorable images. If you prefer to stay dry, climb the stairs built right alongside the waterfall. • This was an incredible experience! I visited with a group of strangers from my cruise and although we didn't know each other, the guide really brought us all together through teamwork & fun. The whole...  more »
  • Quite unusual entertainment-climbing the waterfall against the flow of water from the bottom up. A huge number of people every day on the korabkaetsja waterfall! Unforgettable impressions! Very all recommend. You can say fun room 1 in Jamaica!

  • The famous Dunns falls are nice, however they have been turned into such a tourist site that, the beauty of this natural spot is a little spoiled. You will start at the beach and in a large group of 2...  more »

  • I absolutely love this place. This is my second time going the first time I went I caught a taxi to this place bought my ticket and we went up as our own group individually not in a tour. If you are an Able Body I highly recommend going by yourself with your friends and not with a group on a tour. It's cheaper to go by yourself then it is to pay a tour guide to take you up. Once you get there and you'll see how everyone is going you'll be able to do it no problem. Definitely bring some water shoes and not expensive ones. Because the rocks will tear those shoes up. They do sell some for $10 if you forget to bring some. But the adventure is amazing make sure you bring a waterproof camera or your waterproof phone and take lots of pictures you definitely definitely will not regret
  • This was an amazing excursion! Our welcome instructor, Monique, aka “Shortie,” was so friendly and helpful. She was funny and gave us great tips for maximizing our experience in the park. Norman, our falls guide helped us to navigate safely. The falls themselves are breathtaking and a fun experience to climb. Waterproof bags to secure your cell phone camera are a must, as there are great opportunities to take your own photos. Also, water shoes are a necessity. This is truly a must see stop in this beautiful country!
  • Loved this place!!!! Very fun, adventurous and WET!!! The climb seems intimidating but it's really not. I'd suggest taking a day to do it on your own rather than relying on the tour companies and the guides. Take water shoes and cars for your phone to take pics. Something I forgot and regret because I have no pics to show. Great most see if coming to Jamaica!!!! There's also a "Dry tour" for the less able and less adventurous which your electronics should be safe.
  • Explore much of the natural beauty this island has to offer with a simple half-day visit to this attraction located just a few yards from the seashore. Clambering over the tiered waterfalls (whose rocks were laid down over thousands of years) and then plunging into the many clear bluish-green pools along the way is a thrill you will want to experience at least once in a lifetime. We visited in spring and the water temperature was bracing but provided a refreshing relief from the tropical heat. Bring your snorkel gear as admission to the tranquil beach is included. Plenty of souvenir shops on your way out - be prepared for a gaggle of good-natured vendors who will try to catch your eye with their wares! A perfectly customizable trip - adventurous (falls-climbing) or lazy (snorkeling and swimming) - any way you slice it.
  • The falls are wonderful. There are some areas that present a minor risk but the guides will get you through them safely. Our guide Tammy was outstanding. My wife who is not the activity type was really scared initially. Tammy personally made her feel safe and confident. My wife who is also afraid of heights made it to the top. If she can do it those of you that are timid ask for Tammy and she will take care of you. I would definitely do it again. Great experience!!!!
