Categories: Lighthouses, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
3.6/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web
Appreciate the breathtaking ocean vista from atop the century-old Negril Lighthouse. Whether you get the opportunity to tour the lighthouse or not, you will still be met with a cool ocean breeze, a broad horizon and an abundance of greenery, including some huge trees. If the caretaker is present, they will be happy to elaborate on the history of the lighthouse, which is still in use today. Be sure to take the opportunity to climb up to the top, and bring along your camera to capture some memorable photos. • While waiting for Rick's place to open the taxi let us off at the Lighthouse. It's ok. The views are great. Too bad they charge money to go up the Lighthouse. I did not go up.
  • I have been a regular to Negril for the past 5 years. My last visit to the Lighthouse was September 2, 2016, only to find that it was closed down...very disappointed...
  • Most likely the moment you arrive hustlers will appear out of no where. We were given an impromptu (and undesired) tour of the area (which is public) and then hassled for a "donation". After giving the guy about a 150 jamaican in bills and coins in hopes that he would go away, he became offended that we gave him so little. The entire transaction left a bad taste in my mouth. This place, like the all of the public areas in Negril, is teeming with hustlers and swindlers that see visitors as walking dollar signs and nothing more. Don't come here if your looking for Jamaica.
  • visited last week and it was closed! :/

  • been watching the kids diving there since I I've been going to Jamaica also check out the piller in the cave really interesting maybe it was buried in the last earth quake I don't know
  • I haven't been there before but it seems to be an interesting place to relax......
