Take a step back into the nation's past during a visit to Devon House, a 19th century mansion and celebrated landmark. Built in 1891, the Georgian-style mansion sits on a sprawling 4.4 ha (11 acre) estate of landscaped gardens, with much of the property now housing shops, restaurants, and cafes. Take a tour of the main house to learn about its original owner, George Stiebel, a self-made man who became the country's first black millionaire. Furnished with antiques from across the region, the home's interiors showcase Victorian tastes, with English chandeliers and oil paintings.. Fabulous and renowned for the best Ice Cream in Jamaica dubbed " Devon House I scream" the property was the home of the first black millionaire in Jamaica. It's fantastic for family time, dates and special occasions. Love it there!
Always love the environment and the property is well kept. Ice cream a little on the expensive side but well worth it. NCB ATM available and several gift shops.
Quiet relaxing park space for a quick getaway within the hustle and bustle of Kingston. Have an ice-cream or treat of your choice and kick back a bit... Only just forgetting that work is only minute away...

Devon house use to be a spot of attraction for both locals and foreigners. That is no longer the case. They have blocked off the larger part of devon house subjecting everyone to the back on a little patch of lawn with about 3 to 4 seats, plenty of insect flying about and once I've been there birds where diving at those insect which made it uncomfortable due to the fact u have to be ducking when there close. I started disliking Devon house from the day they closed the front to the public and that is about maybe 2 to 3 years now. One public holiday they turned the pipes on right throughout the day and night knowing large number of people would be be out. There was no lawn to sit and most seats were wet. Mud puddles were everywhere and I know this because I fell in many. I lost respect for this once great place. I suppose they decided to go back to the roots in which they started before ice cream hopefully it's not the whips and chains.
