  • A wine cellar for bottles and bulk wine, salami, cheese, delicatessen for spices, jams and chutneys. Also something of an Aladdin's cave for unusual gifts, especially around Christmas. We always buy at least a wine box here, but usually a range of local cheeses and chutneys to take home. This visit we had a tasting of wines and food-absolutely top class and delicious. It is a family business and you feel that a visit here has been to a familiar family-there is a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. This is the sort of place you can just pop into to pick something up, or linger and browse, talk to the staff and maybe have a wine tasting. Who knows! You might leave with good things to eat, good things to drink and just, maybe, something a little bit different to take with you. Many visitors stay within the medieval walls of Volterra but this is a mistake-explore outside but still within the town of Volterra. This Winery is a 10 minute walk from the heart of Volterra in the District of Santo Stefano.
