  • Hailing from London, with a bit of breath, the trail is not long. You will encounter various chapels along the way until you reach the final steps leading to the small shrine. From there you can enjoy an excellent view out of Vittorio Veneto. Wishing at the top is even a canteen/cafeteria.

  • A great little hike. The view is great, even in foggy wintertime. You can continue upwards and picnic in some tower ruins if you want. Divertente, con un belvedere fortissimo!
  • On the back of the Cathedral, to attack via Calcada, opens the monumental stairway that marks the start of the ascent to the shrine of Saint Augusta, traditional pilgrimage in which cherishes the relics, discovered in 1450, the martyred Patron Saint of serravallesi. The scenic climb into the forest is divided into six chapels, dedicated to the Roman basilicas, built in 1642 as thanks the community escaped the plague. Along the way we meet a capital which was frescoed by vittoriese Helium Casagrande (1920-2004) with the scene of the miraculous transformation into flowers of the loaves that Augusta wore to the poor, avoiding thus the father, furious at his conversion. At the top of the Hill stands a medieval tower, part of the ancient fortified system of Serravalle, which had one of its vertices on Mount Marcantone, where they remain the ruins of the so-called Torre Nigra. The sanctuary, which took the place of a rock below the top, appears at the top of a flight of 100 steps flanked on the right by an ancient battlemented Tower (now Bell Tower) and left by a neo-Gothic porch with a central well. Remarkable, thanks to 350 meters above sea level, is the view that stretches from the city below to the Venice lagoon. Inside the sanctuary there is a chapel of Saint Augusta Virgin and martyr, the oldest part of the complex, with 15th century frescoes. Also notable are: Ark of St. Augusta, carved stone, with Virgin Sant'Augusta, Santa Cita, Sant'Ulziano and San Leonardo (14th century); Ancona of St. Augusta, stone carved and gilded (XV century); Virgin and child with Saint Blaise and Sant'Augusta, the high altar (1653). Interesting, as a testimony of devotion and fancy, are also the numerous votive offerings. Retrieved from "Vittorio Veneto and Treviso Alps" (Francis Salazar, Touring Editore, 2016)

  • Beautiful walk in the woods with charming view. Possibility to picnic or trattoria once at the top. Used sneakers, avoid sandals. The sanctuary is a nice destination and calls for silence and reflection.
