  • Characteristic necropolis unfortunately almost total neglect. Fit more fans than tourists everyday. Reach the Tower requires a lot of effort

  • The archaeological site of Castel d'asso is not far from Viterbo. Is the necropolis of Etruscan town Axia, developed between the VI and 1st century BC. The tombs have, beyond the degradation of Tuff, the scheme: aloft the mock door of the afterlife, to base a setting for ritual libations and down the steep stairway or corridor between walls for access to the Tomb itself (in an impressive cavity there are 67 posts!). The natural environment highly suggestive does the rest. Very interesting. Be careful in the paths a little abandoned.
