A molti di noi sarà capitato di sentir parlare delle sibille.Ma chi erano? E che poteri avevano? Stando alla mitologia greca e romana si trattava di donne dotate di eccezionali virtù profetiche che , ... read more »Most of us will ever hear of the sibyls. Who are they anyway? And what powers did they have? According to Greek mythology it was exceptional women with prophetic virtues, through contact with the God Apollo, made precious as obscure responses on the future. Rieti writer Marcus Terentius Varro lists ten in order of antiquity: Libyan, Delphic, Persica, Cimmeria, Eritrea, Samia, Cumana, Hellespontine Sybil, Phrygia and Tiburtina. In medieval times became very famous the Apennine Sibyl, also known as the "Oracle of Norcia", which, according to tradition, he lived in a cave on monte Sibilla between Arquata del Tronto and Montemonaco, a village rich in symbols drawn on the doors of houses crosses and pagan signs engraved by heretics and alchemists who here had found shelter of the Inquisition. And just in Montemonaco is a museum dedicated to the Villa Curi Sibyl, which includes books and scrolls, in addition to the mysterious Large dark Stone, a flat stone used as an ancient pagan altar, of which it seems she shopped for their divinatory rituals. The Sibillini mountains are always considered to be a place of strength, a special point suspended between two worlds, imbued with powers unknown. An echo which is also found in Giacomo Leopardi, who wished to "cross the threshold of those arcane worlds." The same names of some peaks and valleys evoke the aura of mystery that surrounds them: Pizzo del Diavolo, Gole dell'infernaccio, Bad Pitch and the famous Lake of Pilato. These places itself is obscure, along the road to get in front of the Sibyl. Lake Pilato to its isolation, the freezing water, and the unusual eyewear shape is certainly one of the most disturbing and sinister. Every spring, also, its water has turned into red giving the impression that the basin is filled with blood. But don't worry, this is due only to the presence of a very rare crustacean which I can't remember the name, Ruby color, then swims with the belly upwards by painting in this way the surface. The Lake is surrounded by an unnatural silence, which evokes that of Pontius Pilate when not wanted to pronounce on the fate of Jesus. Legend has it that towards the end of his life, Pilate expressed the wish that his body was abandoned on a cart pulled by Buffalo. They wandered a long time until you come to the Sibillini mountains, where it fell from the top of the Savior and were engulfed by the waters of the Lake. Once this route laden with sad forebodings, it finally arrives at the cave located at 2175 metres high, surrounded by a kind of circle of rocks that seem to form a Crown. A landslide, however, has blocked the entrance and only the more adventurous can access it. According to popular tradition the sorceress was surrounded by beautiful fairies, who appeared at night in villages to teach the art of weaving and spinning at maidens and to seduce their boyfriends with wild dances. It happened that the boys are unaware of the presence of goat legs under long skirts, but kidnapped by sensual movements he forgot and danced until dawn. Still today the "dance of the fairies" exists and is very popular in the country. Behind popular legends though there is always some truth, and around the cave of the Sibyl are concentrated many tales, a sign that the inhabitants perceived the special energy of the place and were interpreting it their own way. Also on these mountains gathered famous alchemists, making long and exhausting trips to reach them, so they had to be aware of a place of particular strength. Bright energy manifestations were observed in the Sibillini mountains (balls of light) than applicants. It is unknown if the Apennine Sibyl is the Transfiguration of a woman actually existed: perhaps more simply local people seeing balls of light thought that the mountain was inhabited and therefore imagined a witch-Sibyl. "at this point it is legitimate to ask whether the Sibyl or women with sensitivity, as witches, sorceresses and priestesses, not have entered into contact with this type of energy. Those who managed to get close to spheres of light said he tried an immediate alteration: some had hot, cold, others more experienced tremors, dizziness and hallucinations. This is because the electromagnetic waves are interfering with the bioelectrical activity of the brain. After all, the telepathic messages traveling with waves and brain frequencies between two intelligent minds that resonate. I hope I haven't bored you the reader, and indeed to have stimulated even more its curiosity towards one of the most magic and enchanting of the Bel Paese. Council so the Sibylline Mountains National Park to all lovers of nature and of esotericism.show original
