  • Along about 1.2 km with more than 10 km of paths this great fortress built to defend the Stura Valley towards the French border and fortunately never used for military purposes, is undoubtedly an example of civil and military engineering. The visit inside it is recommended for those who have good legs for the presence of many internal stairs to go in.

  • Visited on the occasion of the day of families at the Museum (a great initiative with treasure hunt for the kids in the Fort, book and a tasty snack with local products) were delighted; We explored the Museum section: the exhibition is interactive and engaging (to our visit the multimedia stations were all functioning), perhaps in some places the brightness is not optimal for reading unexpectedly interesting interactive lecterns, the part devoted to pigeons "enlisted" for military missions, moving the staircase with the names of thousands of war dead of our valleys ... will be back in the summer for a guided tour to the Fort!

  • When it was built it was definitely a great work for defense from France, now after many years of disuse and the highway that cuts it in half ... # ¿◇ frame in some parts open freely inside and outside fee but with days and times limited. Changes, as ice rink, bars and the street, distort the philosophy of fortification but it is also true that make it more usable and reduce the sad abandoned areas. I think the intentions of the municipal administration are to hold only a part "original" for guided tours (interesting) and the rest use it for other purposes.
