  • The castle is the symbol of Villafranca and the construction of this magnificent building dates back to 1199. Al = the inside of the walls are located seven small towers known as "torresine", built, supposedly, with stones coming from the Arch of the Emperor Tiberius. In the castle there is a crucifix painted by Jacopo Tumicelli, the Church of "Christ the King" with a 13th-century fresco and three paintings by Giambattista Lanceni. Nineteenth-century frescoes are located in the sacristy which explain reasons of Passion. Outside is very nice, superb and imposing, inside it's just a great space which is used for a variety of cultural, artistic and gastronomic manifested = tions.

  • It was built between 1199 and 1202, consists of walls with seven small towers called Torresine with stones from the Arch of Tiberius, impereatore over the centuries was largely destroyed but rebuilt by the Republic of Venice, it was later abandoned and most recently bought by private individuals, the main tower was built in 1890 with the current clock. Now it's fully inserted in a context of musical or theatrical events on the inside but also in front of culinary festivals and events are held very important as described in the pictures which I enclose.

  • After stopping for lunch abiam chose to see the Castle, we could just walk all the way around. The thing is always nice and pleasant, too bad you won't get in.

  • Castle looks cool from the outside, unfortunately only open to visitors on the weekend
  • Ben sfruttato per le manifestazioni
  • A must visit spot.
  • Well maintained monument that can be appreciated even just remaining outside. In fact there is little to see. Is exploited (barely) for concerts or other events.
