Once in London we were able to see the Castle through the courtesy of Princess Claudia Ruspoli who, reached by telephone from the caretaker, has given permission to visit. The Castle stands on a cliff overlooking the town and from which you can observe a wide view of the land below. Born as a fortification before the year 1000, the castle became the convent of Benedictine monks and underwent several changes over the centuries. Donated by the Pope to his niece Beatrice Farnese, the fortress passed to her daughter Hortense, who married the noble Endeavors Marescotti. Next, and this is well documented by trees that can be seen on the ground floor of the Castle, the primitive Fortress became a stately home with features that even today we know. Owned by the family of Princes Ruspoli, the castle was partly open to the public and guarded at events, with the obvious exception of private apartments. The whole floor is finely frescoed, with a succession of halls and rooms that recall the old days. Especially nice garden, Italian garden and an important example of the underlying secret garden that, in some respects, reminiscent of Villa Lante in Bagnaia. A very interesting visit to a work fine and rich in history, an important testimony of our past that the descendants of this illustrious family maintain with great spirit of dedication. Too bad that in our country are not recognized the merits of those who carry out these efforts also preserving all relevant Community goods so important.

We visited this historic house with an exceptional Guide: Princess Claudia Ruspoli. It shows the spectacular tree proudly and very nice and attractive family rich in details. The castle in which they live is beautiful both inside and out. Italian garden landscaped beauty and geometry that is among ibpiù the upper lazio. The secret garden. Well worth a visit.

I visited many places, but this is the first time that the Princess in person makes me as a guide for the group visit of his house. A pleasant surprise and a special point of view to know the secrets and the evolution of a nobility passed but also revisited. A specific and detailed knowledge of the past of his family with a series of flashbacks and anecdotes uncommon in a guide. A route designed mainly through the images in the form of painting or old photo with references to relations between all the great noble families settled in Latium. Authority and scowl worthy of a great family both in movements that in the show to describe a building in excellent condition with attention to detail and, above all, lived. The same places visited are the abode of the same Princess.

  • Amazing town and Castle. Festival day, special menu lunch and a tour of the castle and gardens. Tourist heaven. Great day-trip drive from Rome
  • The visit of the Castle led by the owner is very interesting. The Italian garden and the secret one with its many varieties of roses and ireos are very beautiful especially in spring.

  • Beautiful castle in the center of Neptune. Offers cultural events throughout the year.

  • Sad decline both the Castle and the Princess who dwells too in a long-winded speech about his noble family instead of showing the Castle. Then the guide is a real profession. Where there are professional guides, you can really appreciate the history; see for example, the fortress Caetani area Nymph.

  • Discreet but the garden much vaunted on the site failed me rather sad and not well kept despite the hedges designed. The Interior cold and unwelcoming. The planned meeting with the Princess rejected.
