  • The façade of the Cathedral is certainly the most remarkable and valuable of the building: beautiful is the curved, that pink and white marble tiles embellish and make brilliant in the Sun. The Interior was not impressed Similarly, is more normal, although different construction phases happen.

  • The limits of the city and Renaissance heart especially pre-Palladian masterpiece, the Cathedral is a building with multiple developments and therefore hybridized architectures, different era had. It stands on a Roman settlement and bases are probably in the last years of the Empire, with subsequent construction of the basilica during the Lombard domination. Anyway, today the external appearance contrasts with the austere sides late Gothic (end of ' 200) to a Renaissance façade in more orders, while the Interior overall sober and majestic looks a nave in five trusses Vault. To see in the apse the Civran, a stucco architectural framing 12 paintings, the crypt with the sculptural group of the black madonna and especially in the chapel on the right, the Dormitio Virginis (a "Panayia Kimitria," in Byzantine art) by Lorenzo Veneziano. The latter to be admired not only for his Bill, but for the artistic motif of the lady who sleeps, common in Orthodox art, but rare in our churches

  • The Cathedral was rebuilt mostly after World War II because of the damage caused by the conflict. The partially rebuilt is clearly visible from red bricks and much more current, notwithstanding the great work of attention that he tried not to break up too much history of the temple. Inside there are very few things that leave you amazed, these include the presbytery which dominates and puts the Christ (Eucharist) at the center of liturgical life with a grandeur given also by the priest who only during the consecration goes up to the altar. The Church has excellent acoustics. The crypt it strikes for mystery and/or story.

  • It's beautiful on the outside and your greatness. The interior is completely devoid of interest.
