  • The monument and held up well despite the economic problems of the municipality but the exceptional aspect is its strategic location like most castles: erroccato and scenic. Nice to visit on a beautiful sunny day!

  • With origins dating back to King Ruggero the Norman, the occasional Castle was the residence of Frederick II of Swabia who made it safer. Thereafter the Angevins and Aragons the altered with works of fortificazione.nei the early 700 became the property of the Dukes of Calabria, Papp that once lived there but the earthquake of end of 700 largely destroyed it and so was abandoned only to be recaptured by the Bourbons that I used as a prison. The Castle has two angular cylindrical towers and a central traverse. The entrance leads to a large courtyard from which a staircase can climb upstairs that houses the archaeological museum. The towers along a balcony allows, at times, you can see a magnificent view of the East and South of the Castle. A second exit is located in the South of the Castle.

  • Very nice well maintained Castle at the top compared to the town of Vibo and this gives the possibility to enjoy a beautiful view, also housed inside an archaeological museum very well organized, with a very low entry price which makes it possible for all to enjoy, we were gone in Vibo Valentia for other reasons instead we found a nice surprise recommended.

  • The castle of Vibo, has a spectacular view. The Interior hides precious archaeological finds, but should be more valued. The walk (erta actually) to reach it repays the effort (though you can hop in the car). Outdoor garden which often hosts concerts, theatre ... To visit!

  • Extensive display of archaeological finds that changes quarterly. Also come up repeatedly you will not be bored. We hope soon to open the walk above the walls. Knowledgeable and helpful to illustrate. There is also the location for the visually impaired.
