  • For many years this site has been abandoned, which results in a ruin of a Necropolis in a kind of 'natural state'. We were not dressed properly to explore it completely (especially the part on the oth...  more »
  • We were visiting this necropolis last Easter. We had to go to the beach but heavy traffic forced us to take a detour and arrived here by accident. The site is nestled in the Woods, an adventure for children, a pleasant walk for adults. It is not a secure site so you are free in the excursion. Unfortunately there is no maintenance and in some places the grass to prevent almost step. Anyway a nice trip, we recommend x spend a morning outdoors.

  • Hurry up, the vegetation now surrounds, reach the dark hollow is comparable to a shipping Amazon, the graves in the temple are a mirage, sorry a site than in the rest of the solar system would be protected, guarded, preserved for future generations here lies in complete abandonment, rudimentary knowledge of Archeology who understands the importance of the site that slowly but surely the time is recovering.

  • Beautiful place furrowed by deep ravines, especially that of the river Bietano, and covered in lush vegetation. Rich in etruscan tombs from different types related to a town where you don't know the name. Certainly represents the most important example of Hellenistic necropolis (IV-II centuries BC). Then the town continued to live in Roman and medieval times until 1435, as evidenced by the evocative remains of the Castle and the Church of San Pietro. Really interesting are the first graves, those so-called "a nut" who meet coming from the parking lot, located on the steep Tuff slope. Unfortunately General is the State of abandonment of the site, unless the commitment of some willing. The comparison with the photographs I had taken a forty years ago is merciless. Now the vegetation has taken over and makes it difficult to read the walls covered by rock tombs and difficult step in part of the trails. And now the practical advice. Appropriate shoes are required for strokes the roughest boots to overcome the Fords of rivers affected during rainy days. Be careful with the cars in the last stretch of road that comes from Cervantes to potholes, not many but very deep. Whereas in the final parking there are the remains of several break-ins of glazing advice to leave your car at the area of ponds "Albatros" are 1.3 km walk more but you are more relaxed.
