  • La Rocca di Verrua Savoia or Fortezza di Verrua Savoia was probably built between the 10th and 11th centuries, when a document of Otto III of Saxony he mentions the existence. The Fort is located on a hill on the banks of the Po and still does today from border between the provinces of Turin and Vercelli as, in earlier centuries, served as a division between the marquisate of Monferrato and the Duchy of Savoy. Today this site has fallen into disrepair for the extraction of lime from the hill adjacent to the complex. After being home for wounded soldiers and invalids in the Napoleonic era, in 1957, after a long period of neglect, was sold to the company that performed the work. Can be visited from April to October, every Sunday from 15.30 to 18.30, in other days by appointment.

  • We went in July on the occasion of the market. The location is impressive because the stalls are arranged on the street surrounded by greenery which leads to the foot of the Castle. Nice atmosphere, it feels like a blast from the past

  • After a hearty lunch at the Fulariò of Ranchi were visiting the fortress, the remains of a huge fortress active in Italian risorgimento and even before. A big thank you to the guide who pointed out the various stages of construction, destruction and anecdotes about the place with professionalism and passion.
