  • On the left bank of the Adige is still worth a visit the Church of Santa Maria in Organo, doing so darling of judgment by Vasari who called the wooden stalls by FRA ' Giovanni da Verona the most beautiful in the Renaissance. Technical mastery, religious and artistic ability, in fact, the stalls of the apse and sacristy, leaving stunned the faithful and the visitor. Very nice is also the façade of the Church (Renaissance at the bottom "Advanced", by m. Sanmicheli, Romanesque and the top "backward"). In the list of splendid churches of Verona, to visit, should not miss s. Maria in Organo, next to San Zeno Maggiore, s. Anastasia, s. Fermo Maggiore, etc.

  • A church-belonging to the monastic order of the olivetans-a must for the wonderful wooden works by FRA Giovanni da Verona, a sort of wooden prayers ", the fruit of faith and undisputed technical expertise, built around the beginning of 1500. To see and contemplate the lampstand (1491), the lectern (1500), the chorus (1494-1499), the sacristy (1519-1523-created in collaboration with Mantegna, Francesco Morone). The iconography of FRA Giovanni is the same as that found in contemporary artists who decorated choruses and libraries but is enriched over time thanks to his travels and meetings with many intellectuals of his time. Think that Saints, liturgical objects, urban and architectural views, memento mori, animals, musical instruments, liturgical objects and Polyhedra are made exclusively with bits of wood (colours and different shades) does figure out how much beauty can arrive the human genius when illuminated by a genuine and Holy faith.

  • me and 5 other people after lunch at nearby (at isolo) standing a few hundred metres we enter in the Church. Now we get "assaulted" benevolent by two ladies (later I learn that are voluntary) which are doing their utmost to drive us to visit the Church. I told myself that this time we have to PAY and take the tour before in the crypt with description of the pillars that support the vault, one different from the others and then up and go in the sacristy where there was explained the inlays of solid wood cabinets and then move behind the altar (Sanctuary) admiring the choir also and a lectern and a giant candlestick handcrafted. And finally the muletto also wood, depicting a Mule (I will not tell you the story and I'll leave it to you to discover it). At the end of the lap while I was about to pay volunteers refused the money as their mandate is to promote and raise awareness of the beauty of the Church. Suggested-but without obligation, if we considered useful, reiterating how buying a book (10 euros) always the Church of Santa Maria in Organo. Asked us to put our signatures which visitors into a register. Really really really very kind. If they're reading ... thanks a lot
