During the domination of the Goths and the Lombards, who were of Arian worship Christians, became a sort of second city's Cathedral. From there, nice and short walk which leads to Castel San Pietro from which you have a stunning view of Verona. Then you can go down a stairway leading to the "stone bridge" and from there back to church or "enter" across the bridge.show original

Giovanni in Valle lies on the opposite bank of the River from the tourist center of Verona. It is an ancient basilica in Romanesque style simple and strict forms, with wooden arched beams. The Church is beautifully restored and is in excellent condition. Most importantly-there is almost no tourists!show original
