  • Beautiful little church situated at the foot of the "torricelle" San Giovanni in Valle is an ancient Church, built in the 6th century over Roman sepulchral area which over the years had become an early Christian Cemetery. During the domination of the Goths and the Lombards, who were of Arian worship Christians, became a sort of second city's Cathedral. From there, nice and short walk which leads to Castel San Pietro from which you have a stunning view of Verona. Then you can go down a stairway leading to the "stone bridge" and from there back to church or "enter" across the bridge.

  • Crazing s. Giovanni in Valle lies on the opposite bank of the River from the tourist center of Verona. It is an ancient basilica in Romanesque style simple and strict forms, with wooden arched beams. The Church is beautifully restored and is in excellent condition. Most importantly-there is almost no tourists!

  • Somewhat hidden and out of the way but well worth a visit ... the structure is well preserved so as to return back in time during mass ... in particular we came on a Sunday morning when the priest offered coffee before starting ...

  • It's a nice place, little known. A place to visit is the fontana del ferro, a hundred meters further on.
