  • The Museum is located inside the monastery of San Francesco, dating from the 13th century. and is attached to the tomb of Juliet, open at the place where was placed the Ark of stone that welcomed-according to legend-the bodies of Romeo and Juliet. The Museum holds murals that come from historic buildings and in the convent are canvases painted between the 16th and 18th century. In the basement are ancient Roman amphorae, dated approximately the first century. ad.

  • This museum is really the place to visit to see the beautiful frescoes from the middle ages. Here you can wander around for hours and admire the most beautiful works of art. A big thank the staff of the Museum which was very nice and friendly, this was a great experience! It is not difficult to find if you have a map. In addition to the Museum, you can visit the who is said to be Juliet's sarcophagus and located under the ground level in the former monastery of San Francesco al Corso located in relation to the Museum.
