Giardino Giusti, Verona

4.4
#6 of 22 in Parks in Province of Verona
Named for the noble family that has tended to them since they opened to the public in 1951, Giardino Giusti represent a renowned example of Renaissance landscaping. Find the gardens just across the river from the historical city center. Wander the paths to get lost in the hedge maze or simply enjoy the picturesque parterre. Gargoyles and fountains mingle with manicured lawns and cypress trees, whose beauty inspired the German poet Goethe to include the gardens in his travel writings. • Cute place, regular Park. Not a big and cosy. A SIP of air in a hot city. You come into the gate and find yourself in another world. Quiet murmuring fountains. If you're not lazy, you can climb the stairs to the top of the Park, where you can enjoy beautiful views.

  • Gardens recommended guidebooks. But, if you do not have time to visit, you can not regret. Compared with other attractions of Verona, they have a secondary character. Regular gardens with statues can be found in other Italian cities, and in the villas of Palladio. You can, of course, happy to get lost in the maze, but suddenly you find output?

  • A little walk out of the centre past the roman theatre is well worth the vistas and peaceful space, both inside and outside. You can walk up steps or meander up paths to the top and then a short spiral...  more »

  • Would absolutely recommend going to see this beautiful garden if you are in Verona! It is a quite small to medium sized garden really pretty and usually not too overcrowded as it is a little way from the other touristic attractions in Verona. At the top of the garden you can even settle down with a book.
  • Unexpectedly the best thing that I did in verona was visit this wonderful Garden! It encapsulates all the romanticism of ItalIan gardens and affords some of the best views of the city!
  • Very beautiful garden with a some nice statues, cool small hedges, and beautiful views of Verona. Verona Card compatible, reduced price to €5; I assume it would have been €10.
  • Beautiful, silent, inspiring. Taxi from station 11E. Entrance fee 8.50E.
  • The most amazing garden in Verona, perfect for a visit and for a photoshooting!

Where to stay in Verona

The historical center of Verona is packed with famous luxury hotels, which offer all the modern conveniences but also tend to be very expensive and require booking months in advance. If you're a spontaneous traveler visiting on a budget and staying in the central area is not one of your musts, consider checking into a small B&B or family-operated farm just outside the city. Verona's picturesque countryside offers less expensive but comfortable lodgings with good food and friendly hosts, all within a short drive from the bustling city center.
