Chiesa di Sant'Anastasia, Verona
Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Churches, Tourist Spots
A monumental church in the center of Verona, Chiesa di Sant'Anastasia is notable for the sculptures both inside and out. The four columns over the high altar display the coat of arms of Castelbarco of Trento, a family who contributed to the building of the church. The funerary monument to Cortesia is one of the renowned sculptures. It portrays the mounted figure of Cortesia holding a commanding wand in front of the sarcophagus. The chapel houses a late Gothic fresco of St. George and the Princess, one of Pisanello's main works, as well as Wilhelm von Bibra's grave. Outside the church, a small, seated sculpture of a hunchback attracts attention because of its expressive face. Nosotros fuimos a esta iglesia, nos metimos con mi marido por el costado y justo había una familia despidiendo a alguien! momento muy incomodo, claramente quedo como anécdota! We went to this church, got with my husband on the side and just had a family saying goodbye to someone! moment very uncomfortable, clearly I am anecdotally!show original
Amazing church! Beautiful and ornate with a great sounding organ.
Il Miraggio Consigli di Viaggio e ArteBeautiful church and I got lost in all the senses. It is true, the request to pay to enter can bother but if you do the combined ticket of € 6 for 4 churches worth it (also because keeping all this beauty has costs, thinking only to the maintenance or any renovations ...): I discovered a hidden world and I was happy!show original
Davide Sky ScaiolaLeave absolutely breathless. Beautiful church in terms of architectural artistic level. The Church also houses a famous fresco by Pisanello "St. George and the Princess".show original
Filippo TosoOne of the most beautiful churches in Verona. Perhaps the most beautiful of all.show original
Andrea PiccoWe went here during a weekend spent in Verona and this is perhaps the most loved Church. In addition to the classic Gothic style that characterizes it outside, the thing that amazed me was the nave in its upper part frescoed and grandiose. Overall I can say that it is a must to visit Church.show original
