Vernazza, Vernazza

An integral piece of the Cinque Terre region, Vernazza is perhaps the most preserved example of a true Italian fishing village. Admire Mediterranean and harbor views from the city's 15th-century hilltop castle. Wander the town's cobbled streets, lined with stone churches, pastel-colored homes, and ornate buildings. You can only get around town on foot, so wear comfortable walking shoes. The climb to the summit may be difficult for people with mobility issues. Put Vernazza and other Cinque Terre attractions into our Cinque Terre visit planner , and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Cinque lands are absolutely without any interest. A fun nothing more! A shame... nothing is adapted to the world these places bring. Vernazza is a small village with restaurants to tourists with absolutely frozen pizzas degu! * A place to be disgusted with the Italy fortunately we continued our journey to enjoy this beautiful country!

  • I visited Cinque Terre in the month of August. Very tourist, but did not find it difficult to eat. I found expensive transport and disorganized, the trains run late and go super crowded, you pay dearly to go on foot. Vernazza is the second most well preserved of the 5 lands, loses to Monterosso, but has a beautiful view to the sea.

Where to stay in Cinque Terre

It's hard to go wrong with accommodations in Cinque Terre, home to some of the most charming hotels and bed and breakfasts in the country. Choosing among them depends largely on what you want most from your trip. Consider spending a restful vacation on the hilltop to enjoy the famous ocean views, or plant yourself somewhere closer to the shoreline in Riomaggiore for easy access to beaches. If you expect to spend lots of time exploring side streets and local shops, opt for accommodations along one of the main streets in any of the villages. Though it can be difficult to find inexpensive lodgings here, there are some more affordable options in Manarola, the smallest of the five villages, and Monterosso. You can even stay at a hostel in the national park if you want to be close to nature.
