  • went there with my wife on a visit to this Fort really well maintained and renovated. In addition to being able to admire the structure from both inside and outside, are very interesting to see both the videos and the photos commented various artifacts and reconstructions of weapons and other artifacts of the era of the white war. a blast from the past that does give an account of the conditions in which they fought 150 years ago. I don't remember the price because we came thanks to the card issued by the hotel. highly recommended.

  • In 1860, with the second war of the Risorgimento, the Austro-Hungarian Empire realized strong Strino, to defend the border with Lombardy. It is a fortress built entirely of stone, on two levels, with the upper Windows have stayed where the pieces of heavy artillery. With the conflict in 1914-18 the Austrians (to which we must all fortifications whose ruins are present in this region) implement some concrete additions, in particular an internal staircase of 93 steps that rises from the road below the fortress and gets to the vestibule at the entrance. The last three rooms inside are used as Museum with exhibits of the great war, the uniforms of the soldiers of the two fronts, including the white uniform of Alpine skiers. The Fort has been restored with the financial support of the province of Trento in 1995 and opened to the public in 1998, managed by the staff of the municipality of Vermiglio, who owns it, the same staff of the Museum of war down to the village. To emphasize courtesy and helpfulness.
