  • Truly immense and worthy of a capital as Vercelli. On the external façade you notice the huge statues of the 12 Apostles. The belfry is older than the building of the Cathedral. Not far away there is the Archbishopric, and if it's the right day, go see the Vercelli Book and various treasures of the Cathedral.

  • I look at the front and I am reminded of St. Peter. Inside the imposing crucifix and Madonna dello slap that brings with it a legend. St. Andrew's Cathedral and vie for title of most beautiful, both to visit!!!

  • The Green Dome you may not notice if you come or you find yourself in Vercelli. The Cathedral of Saint Eusebius, or simply "the dom" for Vercelli, houses some treasures although it is not the most beautiful church in the city. The original structure was demolished in the 16th century, remains impressive Romanesque Bell-Tower. The large porch and the neoclassical façade conceals a building inside at times discordant but majestic. Cannot not take suspended over the lintel of the main Altar the beautiful crucifix which alone is worth the visit. Masterpiece of Ottonian Goldsmith, probably commissioned by Bishop Leone toward the end of the 10th century, the crucifix covered in tin foil to Golden strokes, to the features of the face, the hieratic pose of the Christus Triumphas, the beautiful Crown studded with precious stones strikes the visitor. Highly revered, with an ancient and evocative rite, is discovered publicly at the dawn of Easter after being covered by veils on good Friday. To seal the historic importance of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Vercelli, the tombs of blessed Amadeus IX and other Savoy in a sumptuous Chapel and of course to the chapel dedicated to Saint Eusebius, the first bishop and evangelizer of subalpine lands. To Crown your visit the nearby Museo del Tesoro del Duomo gem located in the Bishop's Palace.
