Villa Taranto, Verbania
Categories: Gardens, Nature & Parks
Designed and established by Scotsman Neil McEacharn, Villa Taranto is home to more than 3,000 plant species. You'll see 300 different types of dahlias, plus azaleas, and Victorian Amazonian greenhouses. The garden's villa has been renovated into government offices that are closed to the public, but you can still admire the outer facade's Victorian artifice. The manicured lawn and fountains outside the villa are free to roam, as are the rest of the 16 hectares (40 acres) of elegant gardens. Put Villa Taranto on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Verbania family vacation planner.

We were there in september 2016 and enjoyed the amazing plantings, as well as by the wonderful, hilly, park environment. It costs about 10 Euros to visit this place, which we believe is incredibly affordable. If you like such as Dahlias, you have to visit the Park, there are hundreds of varieties with different color and shape.show original
