  • I must say that in General Ventimiglia proves to be a city of two halves, meaning that if one turns inward, it's sad, quite old, not alive, then if you look at the sea is an explosion of beauty that this background especially in the morning of a unique beauty.-So from my point of view for a few days is also nice to stay there but otherwise I prefer other cities.-

  • We parked in the lower part of the city and we headed to the historic core of the old town. According to some historical sources, the original settlement was founded by a tribe of the ligurians in prehistoric times on Sgarba Glue. In the 2nd century BC the village was conquered by the army of the Roman Empire, which renames the settlement Albintimilium, rebuilding a new walled city at the mouth of the Nervia. After the invasion by the Lombard king Rotari in 644, the inhabitants, in the medieval period, abandoned the ancient Roman town and took refuge at the right hand of the Roia River, where they built the new town of Vintimilia. This story, in fact, the upper part of the city was too painful for us "decadent", "let go", a bit unfortunate because preserves interesting sacred buildings with incorporated Roman remains that could be much more valued.

  • You will find you with its beautiful church that you see when you enter the village, houses with lots of history and all maintained and very beautiful. The people are very friendly and make you spend pleasant moments. The parking is difficult so I advise to leave it down.
