  • I visited when I was a kid and it was only in the old home, there was still the Tower elevator to descend from the high street. I revisited today with two of my adult children and I loved it. Now the lift no longer exists, dismantled in ' 72 after it was taken the low road, and there's a new venue over the old part of the Museum. Very interesting is the visit of the relics preserved in the cases that the cave. It includes some steps of evolution homo erectus, nehandertaliano and sapiens. Beautiful and desirable.

  • Yesterday in the rain we went a Ventimiglia and to be safe we visit this Museum, first we got some galleys because little noted, just right after the border, sea side. price 4 euros, free for children. documentation in french for adults and Italian with photo for child. What is exceptional is l ' feel like we as archaeologists, we're looking for eyes of the small bones, flints and then we find 3 burial great cans discovered in the 19 th century!

  • Let's start by saying that the exteriors of the two museums are poorly maintained and dirty. Yes, you got it, two small museums; It is not clear why they felt the need to build a new small museum just a few dozen meters from the old one. Why not have expanded the existing Museum is a mystery. But perhaps the answer is that by doing so he had to double the staff? Who knows. However the Museum is advertised with free guide (but we'd be willing to pay for the service) but the guides weren't there. Stepping into the Museum (indeed museums), although small, are rich in artifacts (but many are calques). The caves can be visited one in which you have to have a great imagination to identify a rock engraving depicting a horse, (honestly I haven't seen it). In short, is a site with potential but, as often happens in Italy, not well exploited; Suffice it to say that there is no public transportation from Ventimiglia from reaching the site. Useless considering that, if the site was in another country, would be quite different.

  • And don't forget the wonderful beaches, all accessible through a scenic coastal walking path from the Museum of Balzi Rossi brings to the pine forest of Mortola and Hanbury botanical gardens: the beach of Balzi Rossi also known as beach of eggs for the round pebbles that is formed (bathhouse with fee paying); the Bay and Beach Darsenun (today better known as Baia Beniamin restaurant of the same name) and the beaches of mirrors (the latter gay friendly).
