What a great experience. For me it was really the best choice. As other students have written before, I also loved it. I hope i will be back soon in the future. Thanks to Diego, Laura B., Laura C. and Mariangela.
What a GREAT experience! Diego is a very conscientious teacher, making sure every student feels comfortable & challenged in each class. Having a maximum of 6 in a class made this the best ever group class I've ever attended anywhere! The lessons are tailor-made to the students' needs, are relevant for improving communication as well as grammatical skills & are so much fun! We laughed as we learned. All the instructors are excellent, professional, knowledgeable & patient. They helped me overcome my fear of speaking/making mistakes. They built my confidence so much that I was able to speak with the locals when I was out & about in Venice. Diego was also a huge help in finding an apartment for me & in navigating my way from the airport to the school! The family & staff are wonderful people, who love their work & truly accelerated my learning & usage of the Italian language. I was there for 11 days of classes in Feb-March. I hope to return in October!
This is my second visit. I love this school. It's professional and concentrates more on speaking whilst at the same time learning the important grammar. Diego and Lucia are fantastic teachers as is Laura. Where the school also stands out is that it is very personal and friendly so immediately one feels comfortable. I love the building itself and the location. It's like being at home. In summary brilliant! I also intend returning next year.
I had such a great time at Venice Italian School. From the start Diego and the entire staff were warm and friendly. We jumped right in and I am surprised by how much I learned in a week, particularly how to use those words and phrases I always hear Italians use but never quite know how to incorporate correctly, which is something I feel other courses often overlook. The lessons were personalized, fun, and the teachers were wonderful. Francesca was great fun and Giacomo was so kind and patient and he had such a fun class! I will definitely be back here many times. A truly great experience.
I have just returned from my annual visit (with friends) to the Venice Italian School. Once again we had a great week with excellent lessons and excellent teachers, and we met students from different parts of the world so it was very international. We like the small class sizes which ensure that everyone has a chance to speak/ask questions etc, and there is plenty of flexibility to adapt the lessons according to the needs of the students. We also enjoyed the social activities on offer, and Diego is always happy to help in making arrangements for us. Finally, everyone is so friendly, and the location is perfect (quiet, but easy to reach), so I would highly recommend the Venice Italian School to anyone wanting to learn or improve their Italian.
My wife and I chose Venice Italian School because of the great reviews, and we were not disappointed. Our plan was to take a week or two of classes at the start of our long stay in Venice, but we got so much out of those first days that we ended up studying there for the entire three months! The flexibility of the VIS offerings means that no matter what you're looking for in your studies, you'll be able to find it. Diego worked with us to make arrangements that fit our level and our changing schedule, so some weeks we had classes in small groups (three or four people), and sometimes it was just the two of us, and if we couldn't do a full-time week, we did a part-time one. As far as the content is concerned, I can't say enough about the lengths Diego, Lucia, Laura, and Jacopo went to to make sure we had a valuable learning experience. They are creative, engaging, and professional educators, and they worked hard to adapt the lessons to our needs and interests. We will absolutely return when we are next in Venice!
