  • The building hosts the main Venice Telephone Exchange, but its two cloisters are open daily to the public. They were built in the first half of the 16th century and are a magnificent example of Reanaissance Architecture. Each of the two cloisters has a well in its center. The former monastery has a wonderfully frescoed refectory which is used as a conference hall, but can irregularly be visited by appointment. In the first cloister, if you look carefully, you can find a reminiscence of its turbulent past: on a column a soldier's bayonet has left its mark, reminding us of the times when this building was used as army barracks, before becoming (at the beginning of the 20th century) the telephone exchange and think tank center it is today
  • Worth visiting just to learn the history of this building - transformed so many times.
  • Italy Telecom Future Centre is based in Venice in the old convent of San Salvador, within walking distance from Rialto. It is an international research center, also home to the Joint Research Center for Digital Humanities and Future Cities. Hosts in its ample spaces, equipped with modern telecommunication technologies, meetings, public meetings and conferences. Its Renaissance cloisters and temporary exhibitions can be visited for free all year.
