  • A monument to prominent political leader of Venice, Daniele Maninu installed in the year 1875 on the square that bears his name. Author-sculptor Luigi Borro. On a pedestal only surname-Manin. Recently happened to see a reproduction of a painting by Giacomo Favretto "inauguration of monument to Daniele Maninu. Interestingly, the area at the time had a very different view. The painting depicts a statue against the backdrop of the beautiful historic building, where now stands the ugly concrete box of an Italian bank. It is a rare example of the 20-th century building in the heart of the city. Fortunately, the building was recognized as ugly and all attempts to demolish anything and to construct something modern had been stopped.
