St. Mary of the Friars is home to several Venetian Renaissance masterpiece, including Giovanni Bellini's triptych "Madonna and Child with Saints" and Titan's "Assumptions" and "Pesaro Madonna." This Italian Gothic-style church was built in the mid-13th century. It has many funerary monuments, including Titan's. The church enforces a strict no-photos policy, but you can purchase postcards from the gift shop.   • The basilica contains the tomb of the Assunta by Titian, Canova, a work by Bellini and Donatello artworks, plus a series of beautiful gravestones. It is a treasure chest of art. Recommended step.
