Trip Planner: Europe / Italy / Veneto / Province of Venice / City of Venice / Venice / Santa Maria dei Miracoli
Known as the marble church, Santa Maria dei Miracoli sits by an attractive canal. Because of this early Renaissance church's beauty, weddings are often held here, with couples arriving by gondola on the canal. The interior is decorated with white, pink, and gray designs, all in marble. When you want to rest, head to the outside benches, or to the nearby secondhand bookstore. This is a beautiful church and well worth the time to visit to see the marble panelling inside and the ornate roof decoration. Not as big or imposing as some of the others but in that lies its beauty. more »
A small jewel. Two sides of the church are in the canal. Outside the church is completely covered with different kind of marble. Now the colours are pastel, in the past were vivid trying to imagine you see something amazing. Inside is another wonder ... many couples get married here.
One of Venice's hidden treasures. A true gem both from the outside as well as from the inside. Definitely worth a short detour from the main tourist roads.
This place is absolutely beautiful. I'm not sure if photos are allowed but nevertheless the church is spectacular. There are many various services and sometimes choirs singing.
Amazing use of marble - well worth inspecting... Also check out the small campo next to the church - lovely cafes and shops...they don't charge service fees - ask first though...things change...
Beautiful renaissance church built to house a miraculous painting. Polychrome marble inside and outside. Incredible design and workmanship. Well worth a long relazing visit! We keep coming back year after year.
