  • Located on the edge of the lively Campo Santa Margherita, is a magnificent Church that we must not miss if we are close. The works began in 1286 and was consecrated in 1348; its style is Gothic, although due to different sustained interventions has been substantially modified. Highlight outside the wall, where we find the funeral monument dedicated to Jacopo Foscarini, Procurator of San Marco. Its interior has abundant decoration, highlighting the upper part of the nave, which is upholstered for 24 large format paintings made between late 16th century and early 17th century by Giovanni Antonio Pellegrini, Gaspare Diziani, Jérôme Brusaferro and Pietro Liberi. Highlight some pictures of Palma the younger and the presentation of Jesus in the temple, by Tintoretto. The Church is open daily from 07.30 to 12.00 and from 14.30 to 19.00 hours. The entrance is free.

  • at one end of the campo Sta. Margarita, at least 3 masterpieces worth a visit: "adoration of the shepherds with the Angel Raphael and Tobias" c d Conegliano *, San Nicolas (from Bari) in throne of the Lotto, a Madonna of P. Veronese * and an excellent Tintor, Chapel restored with bezel painted frescoes of Seb. Ricci; the internal structure of the Church is also very special with a long nave columns and capitals and the partiiculiers forms, organs of Bassano and the Schiavone with an impressive series of the settecento, 1 euro coins required for light when it's dark... Nearby the school great dei carmini especially dedicated to Tiepolo (paid visit, 2 floors)

  • Nice and with a considerable amount of paintings used to decorate the inside of the church.
  • Great time here
  • One of the chief attractions of the church are the twenty-two painted and gilded wooden statues (artist or artists unknown) which line the nave, eleven on each side. The statues stand, above the marble columns, on platforms which are supported on the north side by gilded wooden angels and on the south side by dark crouching figures. Why the difference? The church also boasts paintings by Lorenzo Lotto and Cima da Conegliano and a fresco by Sebastiano Ricci.
  • great time spent here
  • A bit crowded but beautiful
