Where to stay in Venice

Save money and avoid tourist crowds by booking your accommodation outside the historical center of Venice. Central Venice is full of picturesque canals and narrow lanes, but it is also extremely noisy and hectic throughout the day and late into the night. You can explore the ancient city's charms at your own pace by staying at a comfortable B&B or small hotel located in the city's residential suburbs. To stay close to the finest beaches and restaurants, check into a hotel on the island of Lido, the city's famous seaside resort.

  • Nice and with a considerable amount of paintings used to decorate the inside of the church.
  • Wonderfully 👁
  • One of the chief attractions of the church are the twenty-two painted and gilded wooden statues (artist or artists unknown) which line the nave, eleven on each side. The statues stand, above the marble columns, on platforms which are supported on the north side by gilded wooden angels and on the south side by dark crouching figures. Why the difference? The church also boasts paintings by Lorenzo Lotto and Cima da Conegliano and a fresco by Sebastiano Ricci.
