Ponte di Rialto, Venice

4.0
Overlook the Grand Canal from one of Venice's most important landmarks, Ponte di Rialto. Anchoring the historic city center, the iconic bridge is an example of 16th-century architecture, with two steep ramps meeting to form an uncharacteristically high arch of 7.5 m (25 ft). Take a traditional gondola tour of the canal to admire the historic structure from the water. You also can stand in the archways of Venice's oldest canal bridge. • A good view of the Grand Canal. A lot of people. Have something to shoot. You can buy souvenirs. Take a stroll. To show themselves.

  • The picture doesn't do it enough justice. Once you get to the top of the bridge, the view of the main canal is beautiful. It might get a bit tricky to take pictures if its crowded though.  more »
  • The Rialto Bridge is a must. Of great architectural beauty, white marble offers a thousand reflections. A beautiful point of view on the canal. But it's a very popular site with often much fe world. Visit preferably in the morning or in the evening.

  • This bridge is spectacular. It's stunning to look at! I needed to find somewhere in Venice to propose to my girlfriend and I couldn't think of a better place. It can be extremely busy on the bridge itself so I decided to do it by the pontoons to the left of the bridge (heading over it from the hard rock cafe rock shop) and have the bridge in the background whilst I got on one knee to ask my, now, fiance to marry me. She loved it and it made the whole experience extremely special for both of us. You need to see this bridge if you are heading to Venice!!!
  • Beautiful beautiful spot in Venice. We stood for a while watching the Venetian world go by from the bridge. It’s a lovely view. Love the little stalls in the middle of the bridge. We bought a few souvenirs from one of the shops there and it was cheaper than the shops in the Rialto market. The market place around the bridge is also lovely to walk through. Probably my favourite spot in Venice. And we met this adorable seagull wanting to pose for the crowds too :)
  • We were just in awe of the beauty. The work done to restore this fantastic landmark was well worth it. We visited by day & night. Each has it's own rewards. We were given a moonlit night with clear crisp sunshine days. It can be expensive but at the same time, it's Venice and it's amazing!
  • A stone bridge that has stood the test of time; since 1591. The rows of shops on the bridge make the crossing very lively. Love the historic nature of every location in Venice. Can just imagine Portia and Shylock, Bassanio and Antonio going about their daily lives in the narrow alleyways, running up and down Rialto Bridge. Read Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare for mood inspiration of Venezia. Fall in love with the grand lady of waterways.
  • The bridge itself from afar looks amazing but it's generally way too crowded to enjoy it. Taking a picture here is a challenge because tourists don't respect privacy ). There are also way too many shops around which lessens the experience. TIP: I would suggest leaning over the side of bridge and take a selfie so other tourists are not in the frame.
