Ponte di Rialto, Venice

4.0
Overlook the Grand Canal from one of Venice's most important landmarks, Ponte di Rialto. Anchoring the historic city center, the iconic bridge is an example of 16th-century architecture, with two steep ramps meeting to form an uncharacteristically high arch of 7.5 m (25 ft). Take a traditional gondola tour of the canal to admire the historic structure from the water. You also can stand in the archways of Venice's oldest canal bridge. • We walked by this bridge and she is beautiful. With an incredible view, a tourist spot that is worth to be visited. Packed all the time with tourists. RS have to be patient.

  • Of the four bridges spanning the Grand Canal, this is definitely the oldest, handsome and famous. Particularly in its arched structure, and the superstructure deck, with the significant sculptures placed in the archivolt, with its central and side ramps that provide access to commercial activities and the transit of trucks with goods from one side at the other. Its parapet is admired for her beauty a long section of the Canal. Alessandro and Ramona.

  • One of those most surreal experiences in my life. I used this bridge to get around often, it is a masterpiece in both style and function. It serves as a hub to many street vendors. Definitely check them out for souvenirs for your loved ones. There are excellent nearby restaurants along the Grand Canal that provide an excellent view of it as well. Even in pictures it looks unreal. It's stands true to the test of time.
  • Amazing views, iconic structure, and famous landmark. Just don't go in the high season as you'll be bumping and jostling into a gazillion other people non-stop. Of course the high season also happens to be the hottest time of the year. That's the time you don't want to go unless you want to o get burnt to a crisp by the sun and you want to be dripping in rivers of your own sweat and inundated with the smell of sweat of every one else around you.
  • Wonderful place to just wander around and pop in and out of shops. There is also a great selection of restaurants and food + patio seating. The bridge itself is also very Sen if and you can take many beautiful photos here. Every other day they host a market near the Rialto bridge which is worth checking out.
  • Pros: 1. Great place for sightseeing and enjoying the canals of Venice. 2. Suitable for photograph taking, especially in the evening/night. 3. Many accessible water bus and other vehicles from there, as this place is considered as the most important spot of Venice canal system. Cons: 1. A bit hard to find. Way there, especially from "the other side" of canal can be tricky and takes a mile away. 2. Too many people jam-packing the bridge, makes it very hard to have a good spot on doing anything you want. 3. Shops there close early, circa 9pm-10pm.
  • This place is beautiful, the best way to explore is by walking. Gondola rides cost about 80 euros and can be shared by up to 6 people. Don't worry, you'll find more than enough people willing to share but it's kind of like the dating scene you have to ask first :-P
