Where to stay in Venice

Save money and avoid tourist crowds by booking your accommodation outside the historical center of Venice. Central Venice is full of picturesque canals and narrow lanes, but it is also extremely noisy and hectic throughout the day and late into the night. You can explore the ancient city's charms at your own pace by staying at a comfortable B&B or small hotel located in the city's residential suburbs. To stay close to the finest beaches and restaurants, check into a hotel on the island of Lido, the city's famous seaside resort.

  • Okay... Nothing special... Just a bridge to walk around... Small bridge... Good in the evening... Good for taking pictures.  more »
  • Nice little bridge, marked with signs to say that it is private property but that doesn't seem to stop loads of people sitting on it for pictures they can upload to FaceBook! Interesting to see a brid...  more »
  • We took a little detour to have a look at this bridge as it is 1 of 2 left in Venice with no handrail.  more »

  • This is not a fancy place but a wonderful charming welcoming place with a lovely view of a side canal and ancient bridge and a lovely garden to sit in during the pleasant weather. The experience is made especially wonderful by the owner Mattia, who is helpful and friendly, speaking English, French as well as Italian and who helped us with every question we had including restaurants, wine bars and best routes for sights. Breakfast is all together with the other people staying at the inn from all around the world.
  • Owner Mattia was so welcoming and helpful- made us feel right at home, even with our 18 month old staying there with us. He thought of everything and we enjoyed Ponte Chiodo very much! He armed us with advice on restaurants (non-touristy & authentic), travel, and sight-seeing recommendations. Whenever we can get back to Venice, this will be where we stay!!
  • Beautiful guest house, the best accommodation in Venice on a parity the price/quality.

  • Nice small quiet B&B with lovely views to "peaceful" channels and a short distance to the "main street" with life and businesses.
