#29 of 100 in Shopping in Venice
You can learn about the process behind mask-making and see how the artists find inspiration for their designs at Myosotis Karima Arte. Wearing a mask during the carnival is a long-standing local tradition, and while many places around the city peddle these symbols of Venice, this boutique shop keeps the artistic approach to mask-making alive. Each piece here is uniquely designed and one-of-a-kind. If you're worried that a mask might get damaged during your travels, the shop can arrange shipping to your home address. • I love the Santa Croce neighborhood, and I took the opportunity to give me a papier-mâché mask (question of cardboard soaked in water) wonderful creations, authentic made in VENICE, and often decorated by hand. Dififdare of imitations, and not always the price tag is synonymous with autenticiita! Workshop/artistic with a great offer of exclusive masks! Avoid plastic masks, those cheap (prices from € 2.50) offering many stalls, but can be found in many shops of Venice (but not only ... I saw them too!). Papier-mâché is a very light material, small and if you want to get yourself a nice gift in this shop you will find quality and original masks. * In Venice by masters of the art, mask manufacturers there are an infinite number, it is possible to have a form that is suitable for your face after the cast a memory in Venice that there never abandon you!

Where to stay in Venice

Save money and avoid tourist crowds by booking your accommodation outside the historical center of Venice. Central Venice is full of picturesque canals and narrow lanes, but it is also extremely noisy and hectic throughout the day and late into the night. You can explore the ancient city's charms at your own pace by staying at a comfortable B&B or small hotel located in the city's residential suburbs. To stay close to the finest beaches and restaurants, check into a hotel on the island of Lido, the city's famous seaside resort.
