  • A few years ago I visited the naval museum, on 2-3 floors of memory. And, what a disappointment, some old relics, boats that fall in ruins in a shed without light... In short go your way

  • Poorly laid out museum with a small number of interesting boats. The most interesting is part of the steam yacht Elettra, Marconi's floating laboratory (why the Italians distributed various chunks to ...  more »
  • The first impression is of a museum dated and uncared for. Is not that big and if you visit it yourself you do very soon. Everything changes if it is accompanied by a guide. We were lucky enough to get in and shortly after to join the Group accompanied by Mr. Ginetto, retired naval military, which carefully and passionately explained each piece, with anecdotes and curiosities. That way you really like museums. Congratulations to Mr. Ban!

  • Awesome museum. As soon as I stepped through the entrance, the hull of a giant torpedo boat greeted me! There's also a massive steam boiler too. Great for maritime enthusiasts, naval buffs, people who are into Venetian history and anyone who likes technology and big engineering in general.
  • We are really looking forward to going here so we couldn't figure out where the door was to get in . The sign said that they were open and we notice that your family's walking around not able to find the entrance either . This could potentially be a five star place if people could find the way in
  • Venice is an island. So its history is tied to boats. You have to visit this museum. Its amassing.
  • Visited the museum today and it was a waste of time. There are a few boats on display but the look as if they have been put there 50 years ago and never been cared for since. One wooden Motortorpedo boat, a few barges some other vessels and that's it. Nothing nice, nothing educational, nothing special. I read in a comment that it is clean. Why would that be good? But even that's not the case. Doubt my review? Go and see. The entrance fee is only 5 Euro. But it would be better spent by getting an ice cream.
  • Basically an old warehouse full of various boats, ships, anti aircraft guns, naval mines, etc. Some nice historical boats. Signs mostly in English. It's not too big, so you're not going to spend all day here, but the small entrance fee reflects that. Definitely worth a quick visit if you're in the area.

Where to stay in Venice

Save money and avoid tourist crowds by booking your accommodation outside the historical center of Venice. Central Venice is full of picturesque canals and narrow lanes, but it is also extremely noisy and hectic throughout the day and late into the night. You can explore the ancient city's charms at your own pace by staying at a comfortable B&B or small hotel located in the city's residential suburbs. To stay close to the finest beaches and restaurants, check into a hotel on the island of Lido, the city's famous seaside resort.
