  • We got to visit just one part of the Querini Stampalia Foundation, namely the so-called Area Carlo Scarpa, which occupies part of the ground floor and garden, located at the back of the building. The architect Shoe made the restoration of these environments, rendered unusable due to the periodic repetition of the phenomenon of high water, in the early ' 60; This work embodies and concentrates fully on himself the interest, always shown by the artist, for the preparation of Museum spaces, the reconstruction of existing environments and the modernization of ancient structures. The intervention at the Querini Stampalia Foundation led to the rebuilding of the walls, the realization of the private bridge, which joins the Foundation the square beyond the Canal, creating the entry barriers that prevent the tides from invading the environments, the partial transformation of salt in exhibition spaces, and the restoration of the garden. The observer curious and attentive effortlessly captures the combinations between the old and new, made from the shoe, and the skillful combination of the materials used, of which grounds, in particular, makes a fine show, marble, mosaic, copper, the Istrian stone, even the alabaster. And it is equally immediate note the dominant motif of the water, which he was able to enter the channel within the environments, covering the bulkheads made along the inner walls; and yet the water is situated in a charming garden tub, and flows in a channel leading to small mazes sculpted. The presence of capitals and sculptures of Lions gives the garden a touch of old, which is also the protagonist in the context of the achievements of the eclectic artist. Carlo Scarpa Area access is done by buying a ticket to 8 Euro (price, in my opinion, a bit excessive), while, with 2 more dollars, you can visit the rest of the Foundation; the library is open to visitors for free. Nice is the bookshop, which in addition to canons art books, offers decidedly original gadgets; the restaurant is closed on Mondays.

  • It's a gem. The home of a Venetian nobleman lit that leaves their assets for public use. Splendid library opened when all others are closed, collection of paintings, the brilliant restoration of Carlo Scarpa (the garden is gorgeous). You don't want to miss a visit to this Museum when you are in Venice.

  • Renovated House Museum which offers multiple activities (library, decent cafeteria, environmental Museum, etc.) including the upper floors rooms decorated according to the tastes of the bourgeoisie of the time (open to the public in 1869). Numerous works of art themed in Venice, remarkable Christ of Bellini, porcelains and other objects of the time in rooms finely decorated. Entrance included in options of joint entrance to the monuments of St Mark's square, 8-10€ in another case.
