  • The Jewish Museum is located in Cannaregio, a ten to fifteen minute walk away from Santa Lucia Train Station. To discover the history of the Jews in Venice we decided to take a guided tour, first to b...  more »
  • It wasn't the first Jewish Museum that we toured around the world, so we were quite prepared on this matter and we cannot judge whether the information would have been sufficient for a "first time". Us-two adults, a girl of 14 years and a girl 9-the Museum and visit to three synagogues are loved, and we were very interested. We first visited the Museum and an exhibition alone, and then we had a nice tour. Well done, explained with mirth and availability questions, from a passionate Guide to Venice (not only Jewish!), the ghetto, the Jewish history in Italy.

  • The guide needs some extra training. It didn't feel like a welcoming or informative tour which is a shame. Granted it was a very hot day. My suggestion to the museum manager is to take a look at the i...  more »

  • Went on a guided tour. Guide spoke good English and gave an excellent overview of Jewish Venice, it's Ghetto and 3 of the 5 synagogues. Also answered our questions. Gift shop definitely worth visiting. Lastly, the Museum also features a Kosher dairy cafeteria with cookies, pastries, coffee and average cuisine. Two days in a row, we enjoyed a quiet and relaxing lunch.
  • Excellent guided synagogue tour. Well paced. All questions answered. In English. Children included. Highly recommend.
  • Very pleasant guided tour, even for our children. It was seemingly interesting for complete newcomers to the subjects at hand as well as those that are more or less familiar with Jewish Venice. We visited several of the synagogues.
  • Excellent synagogue tour do take it, learned loads, nicely set out museum.
  • I found really interesting the guided tour through the sinagogues.

Where to stay in Venice

Save money and avoid tourist crowds by booking your accommodation outside the historical center of Venice. Central Venice is full of picturesque canals and narrow lanes, but it is also extremely noisy and hectic throughout the day and late into the night. You can explore the ancient city's charms at your own pace by staying at a comfortable B&B or small hotel located in the city's residential suburbs. To stay close to the finest beaches and restaurants, check into a hotel on the island of Lido, the city's famous seaside resort.
