  • First of all, 12 EUR is too much for a small museum. 2. The opportunity to visit 2 synagogues in fact felt more like visiting 2 rooms next to each other. However, there are people in each who are...  more »

  • It's a small museum and worthwhile supporting because of that, but it does lack context, if that's possibe - I only have a basic understanding of Jewish life and customs, and as this is said to be...  more »
  • I've never been treated so rudely. I came with a Venice pass but apparently did something incorrectly and was basically yelled at by the employee. I was interested in a guided tour and showed up at the scheduled time for a English tour but couldn't even take part in it as a was rudely just told to go in up the stairs without any explanation. Without a tour there is so little to see and really not worth a visit. Very little on the interesting history of the first ghetto is documented here and you are better off just googling it from home. Awful experience.
  • Well run, thorough museum. Exhibits are well designed and informative—highly recommend the tour of the three synagogues. It really helps place you within Venetian and Jewish history!
  • Interesting. Powerful. Beautiful synagogues shown on the tour. Our guide was a native Venetian Jew, well versed, interesting and had a great dry sense of humor.
  • Such an amazing museum. I know very little about Judaism, so this was a good amount of introductory information about the faith and the culture, and all of the hardships the Jewish people have been through over the years. It's a detailed museum with information in Hebrew, Italian, and English. There's a comprehensive security check at the entrance, so be ready for tjta.
  • We found the guided tour of the three synagogues very interesting and outside the scope of the normal Venice tourist trail – Highly recommended! The little café/restaurant was also very good, serving interesting and unusual snacks, some from old Jewish Sephardic Venetian recipes.
