Mazzorbo, Venice

(4.7/5 based on 50 reviews on the web)
Mazzorbo is an island in the northern Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy, linked to Burano by a bridge. It was once an important trading centre but is now known for its vineyards and orchards. Its main attraction is the fourteenth century Church of Santa Caterina, and there is also a brightly painted housing development, designed in 1979 by Giancarlo De Carlo.

  • We went to Venice where we took the vaporetto number 12 to Mazzorbo, we were the only ones to go down. Arrived on this small island which doesn't even count 300 inhabitants we were struck by the calm of the place, not a cat on the streets (Finally, if there are cats, precisely). We quickly made the whole of the island and appreciated Venissa which is a place with vineyards, a hotel and two restaurants in which we will come next time so we like the calm of the place and the concept around the wine. The view on the island of Burano is very beautiful, it is possible to reach the island of Burano crossing a bridge in wood but attention perhaps rude shock because that there finished quiet and peace...
