Cross the lovely Accademia Bridge from St. Mark’s Square and get lost in the comparatively peaceful streets of a neighborhood historically inhabited by artists and students. Surrounded by graffiti-filled streets, local restaurants, and Venetians going about their business, visit some art galleries, such as the Galleria dell’Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, housed within beautiful palace architecture. • It's the upscale neighborhood, the best in my view of Venice. Not by chance is the residential area of "Venice." Not yet overrun by Chinese specialist and remains a place where one can range from typical place of Santa Marta (a little on the edge) were crowded fields (santa margherita) to places with breathtaking (rafts, Punta della Dogana). Beautiful churches and museums are scattered everywhere. "Search" and handicraft shops are still present in this district. Good restaurants from various economic groups. Surveying calle lunga san Barnaba with restaurants, bakeries, quality shops. "To live"

  • Dorsoduro resists and there is still a real Venice. You tourists but not the mass of Saint Mark. It stores, but a lot of taste. In short, those who enjoy a quieter place in Venice find Dorsoduro. Then at Christmas, with a bit of fog, the atmosphere is guaranteed.

  • I would like to point out to those who will travel to Venice from here in January that the event will take place eight Dorsoduro "My Christmas" (in this regard, I would have preferred something more Italian though). Around the district, mainly by the Chiesa della Salute to the Academy, dressed to the nines as few other times it has been seen in Venice. Christmas tree, lighting sculptures out of calli and rii really striking, Nativity scenes in churches and entertainment fields. Deserves to be seen, maybe by going to one of the many attractions that this district found: Punta della Dogana, Chiesa della Salute, Manfrediniana art gallery, Gallerie dell'Accademia, the Guggenheim Collection, Palazzo Cini, Chiesa dei Gesuati, rafts, Ca ' Rezzonico, Ponte dell'Accademia, Chiesa dei Carmini, San Sebastian Church, Church of the Angel Raphael and to name only the best known the others are ready to be discovered by you. Sorry to disappoint some reviewer, but how does Dorsoduro to be defined outside the usual tourist trail? Just follow the section between the Guggenheim and the Academy to see that is no longer the case. It is still a wonderful district, especially in these times of less tourists.
