  • This church is accessed only by the façade, from a side entrance located on an alley, oddly in between the shops. Entering hits, you don't expect, and red drapes covering the columns. In addition to other works of art, contains a painting by Titian ("the Annunciation", third Chapel of the right aisle). Free visit, but prohibited during liturgical celebrations.

  • Chiesa di San Salvador is a beautiful church. The architecture is great, but the interior design and the paintings are absolutely stunning. It is situated in an almost out-of-the-way sort of place, un...  more »
  • Beautiful church, filled with atmosphere and quiet, I found it by chance after a failed visit visit to the restaurant but the Teatro Goldoni-extremely unsuccessful bar with food from frozen food and prices. The Church turned out to be a beautiful temple, in addition to free entry into what in Venice is the exception, the richly decorated interior you breathless and is not tourists. I highly recommend it.

  • Interestingly erotic (nearly pagan/classical) depiction of St. Sebastian by Alessandro Vittoria (1600). Aside from that the church has its carrying columns decorated with red drapes, which is a rare case of getting a glimpse of baroque "fluff and puff" in our days. Somehow it underlies the lack of religious context in the architecture of this time and its transition into excessive explosion of pure wealth display.
  • Inspiring and free church with Titian and Sansovino art
  • Nice and rather big church in the center of Venice!
  • The church and adjacent cloisters are most impressive.
  • Geat place! Worh to see!

Where to stay in Venice

Save money and avoid tourist crowds by booking your accommodation outside the historical center of Venice. Central Venice is full of picturesque canals and narrow lanes, but it is also extremely noisy and hectic throughout the day and late into the night. You can explore the ancient city's charms at your own pace by staying at a comfortable B&B or small hotel located in the city's residential suburbs. To stay close to the finest beaches and restaurants, check into a hotel on the island of Lido, the city's famous seaside resort.
