  • Built in the eleventh century, it was rebuilt several times. The brick Bell Tower instead dates back to the 12th century. The stark interior has statues of Saint Peter and Saint Jeremiah by Giovanni Ferrari, and works of Augustine column, Palma il Giovane, Giovanni Maria Morlaiter and John Macdonald. In the Church of San Geremia houses the mortal remains of Saint Lucy, Virgin and martyr of Syracuse, which had been stolen by a gang in November 1981, and recovered by police on the night of December 13 of that year, day of the feast of the Saint.

  • This was a very interesting visit in Venice this church inside has two altars other vertical and horizontal one which had not previously seen two altars that cross as well as the chairs of those who listen to the mass or preaching. The ceiling or the ship of this church is very high and low lighting makes that not can be adequately the details of his oils paintings or frescoes on the ceilings. Your main entrance greets visitors with a curved handrail which is not usual

  • A few minutes walk from the train station, Sana Lucia left-in the Cannaregio district with little square there is the Church of San Geremia. Façade of the Church is to the Grand Canal. From the side of the square is nestled in the corner, with far more modest portal. This church mainly from this is that there are exposed to the adoration of the Holy corpse Lucy of Syracuse in Sicily. One of the side chapels is built with stones taken from the demolished monastery dedicated to this Saint for spots at the train station. The biggest celebrations are held each year on December 13, when the plenary indulgence come numerous pilgrimages. Near some nice restaurants.

  • Beautiful church worth a visit especially to see other parts of Venice other than just San Marco square
  • It is a nice church. Nice architectural structure and great location. Also interesting for the body of Saint Lucy Nevertheless it lacks the special character and the masterpieces that we find in almost any church in Venice
  • Nice turist destianation
  • Another beautiful church in Venice, what is special about this church it has the body of St. Lucy ( patron saint of eyes ) that that is on displayed in a glass sarcophagus, also there is a gift shop at the back of the church.
  • Though it is not well known like St Mark Church, this one is worth to add in any walking tour in Venice.
