  • This church is in the Castello district North area in the middle of the Venetian island. It is located near the Church of Santa Maria di Miracoli. It is a small church. Baroque interior is luxurious.

  • Written accounts include this church as early as 1034. Over the centuries, it has suffered as a result of earthquakes, fires and the passage of time. A major remodeling took place in the 16th century,...  more »
  • Across the Rialto Bridge from the Roman Piazza St. Via Giovanni Crisostomo Church 400 m and I arrived at about 500 m. Is felt from the map a little bit more distance to be surprisingly helpful. I was able to walk into. It was a rustic calm Church.

  • In the popular Campiello di San Canciano is the church that bears his name. The foundation is not certain, it is believed to be in the NINTH century. It is dedicated to the three Roman martyrs: Canziano, Canzio and Canzianilla. Over time it has been the subject of numerous restorations, about half of the 1500 was demolished and rebuilt according to Renaissance forms. The façade, which remained unfinished, was built towards 1750 at the hands of Antonio Gaspari. The interior maintains the basilical layout with three naves, with vaulted ceiling supported by round arches and Corinthian columns. On the walls of the ample presbytery there are two paintings by Domenico Zanchi: the probative swimming pool and the multiplication of loaves and fishes. The presbytery is flanked by two chapels; The right one, belonging to the Widmann family, is rich in marble and stucco and presents sculptures by Clemente Moli.

  • The church of San Canciano, deserves the small effort that you have to make to find it being a little hidden. Outside it is all covered with marble of various colors with beautiful shades, and inside...... I leave it to you visitors the surprise.
