  • The festival of the Redeemer in Venice is one of those events that at least once in a lifetime must be admired. It takes place on the second Saturday of July, free, takes place in the Giudecca basin, opposite San Marco. It consists of a wonderful fireworks display that starts between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. It lasts about 30 minutes. You can admire it from the lagoon, with your own boat or with one of the many carriers that offer the service. Of course you have to book on time and prices start from 80 euros per person (including dinner). Or from the terraces of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants, prices here start at 300 euros per person. Or on foot, coming up to the Church of the Redeemer crossing the boat bridge that is set up exclusively for the evening and is the only time that the island of Giudecca is accessible on foot from San Marco. Unique and exciting show. Absolutely to see!

  • Wandering around Venice, on the occasion of the Festival of the Redeemer, I took advantage of it to visit this Church from the sober and elegant interior. I crossed the Giudecca canal while walking on a jetty made by boats...

  • It's like an island church on the other side of St. Mark's Square. The church, which can be seen far from the other side, was very reflected in the Grand Canal. I think that it is good to come to the riverbank and to see it twice or three times a day because it will present a different aspect in the evening.

  • A short boat ride from St Marks square, lovely place to visit. Worth paying the few euros to take the lift up to the bell tower. Views are spectacular. Very peaceful and serene.
  • All churches in Venice are very interesting. But although Italian law does not permit it, an entrance ticket is required. That is not good and in my opinion it is to boycott this requirement.
  • Beautiful church like all Churches in Venice. Free to enter and 6 euros to take a lift to the bell tower and see the amazing view of Venice. Well worth it!
  • This church has a simple message of the redemption that is easy to follow.
  • Grand looking building from the outside .Inside rather plane unlike some I have seen in Italy, but we'll worth a visit .
