Vatican Gardens, Vatican City

Garden
Take a tour through the 23 hectares (57 acres) of parks and gardens at Vatican Gardens. This space covers more than half of the Vatican territory, and features green lawns and flowers, fountains, and statues, as well as medieval fortifications, monuments, and buildings from the ninth century up to the present day. As general access is limited to tour groups, this green area is more peaceful than the rest of Vatican City. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Vatican Gardens and many more Vatican City attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's Vatican City trip itinerary builder.

  • They can be seen from its windows while doing the visit to the Vatican museums, as well as the wonderful courtyard of pineapple. Full of sculptures; and a very nice bar and restaurant; where is nice to take something to follow. One cannot believe that it is in these gardens. Beautiful.

  • The gardens were nice, nothing special. The guided walk was only 1 hour and a half instead of 2 hours and was not able to visit all the garden
  • The guided tour is recommended! An amazing tour of the Vatican backyard.
  • Worth visiting. Very nice plants arranements and beautiful sights.
  • Brilliant European gardens with historical, religious and spiritual significance. The gardens are astonishing! I highly suggest an early morning tour to avoid the heat of the day (plus you may get a smaller tour group). The guides are incredibly knowledgeable - feel free to ask them questions. There are different routes you can take so going at different times of the year you may see different parts of the Gardens.
  • This guided tour is definitely worth a visit. After the tour it's possible to go to Vatican museums and finally to St Peter without going through the security control, which speeds up the process greatly.
